LuaJIT

LuaJIT is a Just-In-Time Compiler (JIT) for the Lua programming language. Lua is a powerful, dynamic and light-weight programming language. It may be embedded or used as a general-purpose, stand-alone language.

LuaJIT is Copyright © 2005-2021 Mike Pall, released under the MIT open source license.

LuaSocket

LuaSocket is a Lua extension library that is composed by two parts: a C core that provides support for the TCP and UDP transport layers, and a set of Lua modules that add support for functionality commonly needed by applications that deal with the Internet.

The core support has been implemented so that it is both efficient and simple to use. It is available to any Lua application once it has been properly initialized by the interpreter in use. The code has been tested and runs well on several Windows and Unix platforms.

Among the support modules, the most commonly used implement the SMTP (sending e-mails), HTTP (WWW access) and FTP (uploading and downloading files) client protocols. These provide a very natural and generic interface to the functionality defined by each protocol. In addition, you will find that the MIME (common encodings), URL (anything you could possible want to do with one) and LTN12 (filters, sinks, sources and pumps) modules can be very handy.

The library is available under the same terms and conditions as the Lua language, the MIT license. The idea is that if you can use Lua in a project, you should also be able to use LuaSocket.

 Lua BitOp

Lua BitOp is a C extension module for Lua 5.1/5.2 which adds bitwise operations on numbers.

Lua BitOp is Copyright © 2008-2012 Mike Pall. Lua BitOp is free software, released under the MIT license (same license as the Lua core).

Features

Supported functions: bit.tobit, bit.tohex, bit.bnot, bit.band, bit.bor, bit.bxor, bit.lshift, bit.rshift, bit.arshift, bit.rol, bit.ror, bit.bswap

Consistent semantics across 16, 32 and 64 bit platforms.

Supports different lua_Number types: either IEEE 754 doubles, int32_t or int64_t.

Runs on Linux, *BSD, Mac OS X, Windows and probably anything else you can find.

Simple installation on all systems. No bulky configure scripts. Embedded-systems-friendly.

Internal self-test on startup to detect miscompiles. Includes a comprehensive test and benchmark suite.

Compatible with the built-in bitwise operations in LuaJIT 2.0.

It's as fast as you can get with the standard Lua/C API.

lanes

Lua Lanes is a Lua extension library providing the possibility to run multiple Lua states in parallel. It is intended to be used for optimizing performance on multicore CPU's and to study ways to make Lua programs naturally parallel to begin with.

Lanes is included into your software by the regular require "lanes" method. No C side programming is needed; all APIs are Lua side, and most existing extension modules should work seamlessly together with the multiple lanes.

Starting with version 3.1.6, Lanes should build and run identically with either Lua 5.1 or Lua 5.2. Version 3.10.0 supports Lua 5.3.

See comparison of Lua Lanes with other Lua multithreading solutions.

Features:

  • Lanes have separated data, by default. Shared data is possible with Linda objects.
  • Communications is separate of threads, using Linda objects.
  • Data passing uses fast inter-state copies (no serialization required).
  • "Deep userdata" concept, for sharing userdata over multiple lanes.
  • Millisecond level timers, integrated with the Linda system.
  • Threads can be given priorities.
  • Lanes are cancellable, with proper cleanup.
  • No Lua-side application level locking - ever!
  • Several totally independant Lanes universes may coexist in an application, one per "master" Lua state.

Limitations:

  • Coroutines are not passed between states.
  • Sharing full userdata between states needs special C side preparations (-> deep userdata and -> clonable userdata).
  • Network level parallelism not included.
  • Multi-CPU is done with OS threads, not processes. A lane is a Lua full userdata, therefore it will exist only as long as the Lua state that created it still exists. Therefore, a lane won't continue execution after the main program's termination.
  • Just like independant Lua states, Lanes universes cannot communicate together.

LuaExpat

LuaExpat is free software: it can be used for both academic and commercial purposes at absolutely no cost. There are no royalties or GNU-like "copyleft" restrictions. LuaExpat qualifies as Open Source software. Its licenses are compatible with GPL. LuaExpat is not in the public domain and the Kepler Project keep its copyright. The legal details are below.

The spirit of the license is that you are free to use LuaExpat for any purpose at no cost without having to ask us. The only requirement is that if you do use LuaExpat, then you should give us credit by including the appropriate copyright notice somewhere in your product or its documentation.

The LuaExpat library is designed and implemented by Roberto Ierusalimschy. The implementation is not derived from licensed software.

uboot

SPDX-License-Identifier: GPL-2.0 U-Boot is Free Software. It is copyrighted by Wolfgang Denk and many others who contributed code (see the actual source code and the git commit messages for details). You can redistribute U-Boot and/or modify it under the terms of version 2 of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation. Most of it can also be distributed, at your option, under any later version of the GNU General Public License -- see individual files for exceptions. NOTE! This license does *not* cover the so-called "standalone" applications that use U-Boot services by means of the jump table provided by U-Boot exactly for this purpose - this is merely considered normal use of U-Boot, and does *not* fall under the heading of "derived work" -- see file Licenses/Exceptions for details. Also note that the GPL and the other licenses are copyrighted by the Free Software Foundation and other organizations, but the instance of code that they refer to (the U-Boot source code) is copyrighted by me and others who actually wrote it. -- Wolfgang Denk Like many other projects, U-Boot has a tradition of including big blocks of License headers in all files. This not only blows up the source code with mostly redundant information, but also makes it very difficult to generate License Clearing Reports. An additional problem is that even the same licenses are referred to by a number of slightly varying text blocks (full, abbreviated, different indentation, line wrapping and/or white space, with obsolete address information, ...) which makes automatic processing a nightmare. To make this easier, such license headers in the source files will be replaced with a single line reference to Unique License Identifiers as defined by the Linux Foundation's SPDX project [1]. If a "SPDX-License-Identifier:" line references more than one Unique License Identifier, then this means that the respective file can be used under the terms of either of these licenses, i. e. with SPDX-License-Identifier: GPL-2.0+ OR BSD-3-Clause you can choose between GPL-2.0+ and BSD-3-Clause licensing. We use the SPDX Unique License Identifiers here; these are available at [2]. License identifier syntax

busybox

BusyBox is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2

BusyBox is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2, which is often abbreviated as GPLv2. (This is the same license the Linux kernel is under, so you may be somewhat familiar with it by now.)

A complete copy of the license text is included in the file LICENSE in the BusyBox source code.

Anyone thinking of shipping BusyBox as part of a product should be familiar with the licensing terms under which they are allowed to use and distribute BusyBox. Read the full text of the GPL (either through the above link, or in the file LICENSE in the BusyBox tarball), and also read the Frequently Asked Questions about the GPL.

If you distribute GPL-licensed software the license requires that you also distribute the complete, corresponding source code (as defined by GPL) to that GPL-licensed software. If you distribute BusyBox without making the source code to the version you distribute available, you violate the license terms, and thus infringe on the copyrights of BusyBox. This requirement applies whether or not you modified BusyBox; either way the license terms still apply to you.
